A Field Guide to the Suzuki T/GT500
The T500 contiues to be a favourite around the globe both as a daily rider, and as a still competative racing machine. It has proved to be one of those machines that just ticks all the right boxes for owners, and as such will continue to be used and enjoyed for many years to come.
There are many people around the globe who are much more expert than I am about this model of Suzuki, so my intent with this guide is not to duplicate what already exists as reference material, but to focus on what may be of interest to someone restoring one of these vehicles.
There are some who may take offence, but I have grouped the T/GT500 models into four main types:
- The 1968 MK I (or 500/FIVE. or Cobra depending on your location)
- The 1969 MK II through 1975 M as they really didn't change very much
- The GT500 models of 1976 and 1977
- And the Patroller Model
